For whatever reason, the developer thought that it was a good idea to only allow to decrease the difficulty on New Game+. I like to play Casual first, then raise the difficulty on subsequent play throughs. 5) You cannot raise the difficulty on New Game+, which to me defeats the purpose of a second play through.
